The Roy G. Post Foundation Scholarship award amounts can even be $5,000 for Undergraduate Students and $7,500 for Graduate Students, but that depends on the fund available annually.
If you happen to be the lucky scholarship recipient, you are expected to attend the entire conference and are required to attend the Tuesday Honors & Awards Luncheon to receive the scholarship.
Winners will be informed of their award one month after the application deadline.
The Roy G. Post Foundation Scholarship is open to students from all over the world, who are currently enrolled full-time in post-secondary educational programs in technical or policy fields, with the objective of contributing to the safe management of nuclear materials.
However, they need to be under the age of 35 to be eligible for the $2,500 award which will be awarded to winning undergraduate students or $5,000 award aimed at helping graduate students.
Besides the money, scholarship recipients will also receive conference registration, hotel accommodations, and travel reimbursement to attend WM Conference.
Eligible are only those full-time students who have not received a Roy Post scholarship.
The selection criteria used in evaluating scholarship applications are the applicant’s GPA, extracurricular activities, involvement in the industry, financial need, research activities, and letters of reference.
You are supposed to check the eligibility requirements first, and if you fulfill them, you need to send application forms, reference forms, and two reference letters prior to November 1st to be considered for the award.
The application process starts by logging in using your existing User ID and password or creating a new WMS account by visiting www.wmsym.org.
There you will be able to complete the online application, and you are suggested to sincerely answer the questions and provide accurate answers.
After you complete the online application, please ask your two references to email their letters of reference to [email protected] by November 1st.
The reference form may be downloaded from the Roy G. Post Foundation website under the “Scholarship” tab.
