The AFWA Foundation Scholarship

The AFWA Foundation is looking to promote and advance education, as well as career development and leadership in the fields of accounting and finance.

Their goal is to help women achieve their desired career successes and decrease the barriers women face in accounting and financial professions.

Accounting and finance scholarships

This scholarship is open to the public and a membership in the AFWA isn’t required. However, your chances in winning the scholarship will increase if you’re endorsed by a member of AWFA.

Scholarships only for AFWA members:

All applicants have to have been an AFWA member for at least five consecutive years.

Mary Feeney Bonowitz PhD Scholarship: the scholarship for PhD candidates who are seeking a degree in accounting (Deadline April 1, 2018)

Disaster Relief Dues Reimbursement – the scholarship for AFWA members who’ve experienced natural disasters in their hometowns, to assist them with the expenses of National and Chapter Membership Dues

National Dues Reimbursement for Unemployed Members – the scholarship for unemployed AFWA Members, to assist them with the expense of National Membership Dues

The Paula Zanni Award: A few outstanding Undergraduate and Masters scholarship applicants will be chosen for this prestigious award.

Scholarships only for AWFA members:

For candidates who have passed all parts of the exam, this scholarship offers financial support for exam fees for one of the following certifications: CPA, CFP, CFE, CIA, CMA, or CVA

Wiley CPAexcel/CMA Review: Provides registration for a CPAexcel, CMA, or CIA Review Course.

Who's eligible?

Students who are pursuing a degree in the fields of accounting,

You can apply for the:

  • Undergraduate Scholarship if you need support for attending the 3rd, 4th or 5th year
  • Master’s Scholarships if you’re enrolled in a master’s program in an accredited College or University
  • Diversity Undergraduate Scholarship if you’re a minority student attending the 3rd, 4th or 5th year
