Alaska Section Water Equation Scholarship

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) funds the Alaska Section Water Equation Scholarship and grants up to $5,000 to one Alaskan-based student.

Full Description

The scholarship aims to promote safe, clean, and sufficient water distribution to the people of America. With increasing numbers of water works professionals retiring, the country is looking to invest in the future of safe water distribution within Alaska.

Applicants are considered for the scholarship based on the total amount of the course they are enrolled in and the resulting certification. The scholarship awards can be used for water works certification/licensing, a two-year water-related degree, professional training, books and manuals, and technical schooling. Applicants must include the total costs of each course they are enrolled in.

Applicants must include recommendation letters in their submissions from their supervisors or coursework lecturers. Preference is given to applicants in remote areas of Alaska where formal training is limited. Further details about the scholarship are discussed in the Virtual Statewide AWWMA Conference.
