SME Directors Scholarship 2027

The SME Future Leaders of Manufacturing Scholarship recognizes students preparing for leadership roles in manufacturing through accredited technical programs. Submit the unified SME Education Foundation application at scholarships.smeef.org by February 1, 2027.

The North Central Region 9 Scholarship from the SME Education Foundation supports high school seniors and undergraduates pursuing associate or bachelor degrees in manufacturing, mechanical or industrial engineering, or industrial technology at accredited two- or four-year colleges in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, or Michigan''s Upper Peninsula. You need a 3.0 GPA. First preference goes to SME North Central Region members and their spouses, children, or grandchildren; second preference goes to residents of those states. Apply through scholarships.smeef.org between 1 November 2026 and 1 February 2027; published listings show awards from about $1,000 to $6,000 for tuition, fees, or books.

The SME Education Foundation Scholarship Program uses one online application to match graduating high school seniors and current college students with more than 60 manufacturing-focused awards. Eligible majors include associate and bachelor programs in engineering, technology, and other fields that feed advanced manufacturing. Awards typically range from $2,500 to $20,000, with merit and need-based options and some renewable packages. The 2027-2028 cycle is expected to open 1 November 2026 and close 1 February 2027 at scholarships.smeef.org, following the annual November-through-February window on smeef.org.

The ITE Diversity Scholars Program, now branded as the ITE University Scholars Program, supports US high school seniors and community college transfer students who plan to study transportation engineering, planning, or related fields at a four-year university with an ITE Student Chapter. Scholars can receive up to $20,000 total, paid up to $4,000 per year for as many as five years, plus mentoring, chapter engagement, and internship connections. Applicants need a 3.0 high school GPA, US citizenship or lawful permanent residency, and preference goes to first-generation and Pell-eligible students. Applications are due March 15 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time on the ITE scholarship platform.
