Awards range from $500 to $1,500, with dozens of recipients in typical cycles. Hi-Low Farm Orleans 4-H Scholarship 2027
The Hi-Low Farm Orleans County 4-H Scholarship, administered by VSAC, supports Orleans County students who were active in 4-H and enroll at least half time at a Title IV school. One award up to $1,000 may be offered when the endowment allows. You need FAFSA, essay #1 with 4-H examples, recommendation letter #1 (a 4-H leader is encouraged), recommendation letter #2 for community service, and your current 4-H chapter name on the Unified Scholarship Application with ID HI-LOW-4H. Helen K and Robert T Stafford Scholarship 2027
The Helen K. and Robert T. Stafford Scholarship, administered by VSAC, honors a Vermont family by supporting a high school senior committed to environmental studies or special education. One award up to $1,000 may be offered when the endowment allows. You need half-time undergraduate enrollment at a Title IV U.S. or Canada college, financial need on FAFSA, community service, essay #1, and a non-relative recommendation on the Unified Scholarship Application with ID STAFFORD. Helen J Switzer Nursing Scholarship 2027
The Helen J. Switzer Nursing Scholarship, administered by VSAC, honors a nurse who spent three decades caring for the sick and elderly. Windham County Vermont residents enrolled at least half time in LPN, AS-RN, or BSN-RN programs may compete for two or more awards up to $1,000 each when the endowment allows. Preference goes to Rockingham, Westminster, Athens, and Grafton in that order. Harry and Vi Bradley Memorial Scholarship 2027
The Harry and Vi Bradley Memorial Scholarship, sponsored by Vermont Law Enforcement Hockey Charities and administered by VSAC, supports a Vermont high school senior pursuing public safety study in-state. One award up to $1,000 may be offered when the endowment allows. You need half-time enrollment at a Vermont Title IV school in EMS, fire, health care, or law enforcement fields, financial need on FAFSA, essay #1, and two recommendations on the Unified Scholarship Application with ID BRADLEY. Green Up Vermont Scholarship 2027 - $1,000
The Green Up Vermont Scholarship, sponsored by Vermont Green Up and administered by VSAC, awards one $1,000 scholarship to an undergraduate who has actively participated in Vermont Green Up Day and shows school or community service. You need essay #1 on why the environment matters and how Green Up Day shaped your goals, recommendation letter #2 for community service, and a signed coordinator letter confirming Green Up Day participation on the Unified Scholarship Application with ID GREENUP. FAFSA is not listed among required documents. Submit by February 11, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern for Title IV study.
Gordy and Gwen EMS Scholarship 2027 - Vermont
The Gordy and Gwen EMS Scholarship, administered by VSAC, honors emergency medical services members and their families in Addison or Chittenden County. Active squad members with one year of service, or spouses or dependent children of those members, may compete for up to two $1,000 awards when the endowment allows. You need three-quarter-time enrollment, academic achievement, financial need on FAFSA, essay #1, a transcript, and squad certification on the Unified Scholarship Application with ID EMS-GG. Submit by February 11, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern for Title IV study.
Conway Memorial Scholarship 2027 - Up to $2,000
The G. Jason and Marcia Vance Conway Memorial Scholarship, administered by VSAC, honors two Vermont higher-education advocates who passed away in 2009 and 2010. Adult students who face significant barriers to education after high school and show financial need may apply for one or more awards up to $2,000 each. Submit the Unified Scholarship Application with ID CONWAY, FAFSA, essay #1, and a non-relative recommendation for any Title IV program at any enrollment level. File by February 11, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern for 2027-2028 study.
Franklin H. Isham Memorial Scholarship 2027
The Franklin H. Isham Memorial Scholarship, established by Mrs. Olive Wilcox to honor her husband Franklin Horace Isham, supports Franklin County Vermont residents who graduated from a Franklin County high school. VSAC may award one scholarship up to $1,000 when endowment earnings allow. You need at least half-time enrollment, a 3.0 GPA, financial need on FAFSA, essay #1, and a transcript on the Unified Scholarship Application with ID ISHAM. Submit by February 11, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern for study at a Title IV college or training program.
Gilman Foundation Scholarship 2027 - Up to $6,000
The Frank M. and Olive F. Gilman Foundation Scholarship, administered by VSAC, supports Orange and Windsor County high school seniors who plan full-time certificate or undergraduate study at Title IV schools. Vermont residency is not required, but you must graduate from one of thirteen named high schools in those counties. VSAC may award roughly 75 scholarships up to $6,000 each, selected on financial need, essay #1, and a non-relative recommendation. Awards may renew for up to three additional years with continuous full-time enrollment. Submit the Unified Scholarship Application with ID GILMAN and FAFSA by February 11, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern.
Essex Rotary Scholarship 2027 - Up to $2,500
The Essex Rotary Scholarship, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Essex and administered by VSAC, honors graduating seniors from Essex High School, Center for Technology–Essex, or Mt. Mansfield Union High School who live out Rotary''s ''Service Above Self'' ideal. Up to six $2,500 awards may go out each cycle, with preference for two winners from each school path. You need FAFSA, essay #1, a non-relative recommendation, and a community service recommendation on the Unified Scholarship Application with ID ROTARY-E. Children of Essex Rotarians cannot apply. Submit by February 11, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern for full-time undergraduate study at a Title IV college.
Emily Lester Vermont Opportunity Scholarship 2027
The Emily Lester Vermont Opportunity Scholarship is a state-funded VSAC award for Vermonters who are in Department for Children and Families custody or who aged out of foster care after meaningful DCF custody between ages 16 and 18. You must pursue an undergraduate degree at an in-state Title IV college and show financial need. Apply with the Unified Scholarship Application (ID LESTER), FAFSA, and Vermont Grant application. Awards generally run $1,000 to $2,000 and may reach $3,000. Submit materials by February 11, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern for 2027-2028 aid.
