GEM PhD Science Fellowship 2027 - $16,000+ Stipend

What is the GEM PhD Science Fellowship?
When people search for National GEM Consortium PhD science fellowships, they usually mean the doctoral Employer Fellow track, not the master's engineering route and not the university-nominated Associate Fellow category you cannot apply for directly. GEM sits between students, member companies, and member universities: the company pays your stipend and hosts you for a paid summer, and the university wipes tuition and fees while pushing your yearly support toward what other funded PhD students in that department receive.

Winning admission is still not the finish line because a department representative has to confirm in writing that the portable fellowship can be used for you.
