Partial Funding Scholarships
Not every scholarship covers 100% of your costs, but partial funding can still make a huge difference. The scholarships listed here cover a significant share of tuition or living expenses, reducing what you need to pay out of pocket.
A. Verville Fellowship 2027 - NASM $55,000
The A. Verville Fellowship at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum funds nine to twelve months of in-residence research on major trends in aviation or space history. Mid-career scholars and qualified nonacademic writers apply through SOLAA with a NASM staff advisor, a research proposal, CV, and recommendations. Predoctoral graduate students are generally not eligible. The Smithsonian lists a $55,000 stipend for a twelve-month term plus limited travel funds, with tenure typically starting between mid-August and early October. Applications for the next cycle are due January 15, 2027, with notification around mid-March.
AFPE Pre-Doctoral Fellowship 2027 - $10,000 PhD
The AFPE Pre-Doctoral Research Fellowship in Pharmaceutical Sciences awards $10,000 to high-performing Ph.D. students at accredited US schools of pharmacy. You must be a US citizen or permanent resident, enrolled full time, with at least three semesters of graduate credit toward the Ph.D. and completion expected within three additional years. Selection weighs research plan (50%), academics (35%), and leadership (15%). The 2027-2028 cycle is expected to open in mid-November 2026 with Part 1 due mid-December 2026 and Part 2 due January 30, 2027 on SmarterSelect.
Allied Van Lines Logistics Scholarship 2027 - $1K
The Allied Van Lines Logistics Scholarship Competition awards three $1,000 scholarships to US undergraduates studying logistics, supply chain management, or a closely related field. Applicants submit a 400-800 word essay, transcript, and enrollment verification through Allied.com. The program targets students who can explain why moving and logistics careers matter to them.
Allen A. Bailey Scholarship 2027 - Preschool Ed
The Allen A. Bailey Scholarship from the Pauahi Foundation supports full-time US graduate students majoring in preschool education. Three awards are offered each cycle, with preference for Kamehameha Schools graduates and, where permitted by law, students of Hawaiian ancestry. Residents of Hawaii and the US mainland may apply when the Pauahi portal opens for the 2027-2028 academic year.
1982 Green Machine Scholarship 2027 - Pauahi
The 1982 Green Machine Scholarship from the Pauahi Foundation honors the Kamehameha Schools Class of 1982 with one postsecondary award for full-time college juniors or seniors who hold at least a 3.0 GPA, show leadership and community service, and write two supplemental essays. Preference goes to nontraditional students such as single parents, sole providers, or students who have experienced homelessness, disability, or foster care. The fund is open to learners in Hawaiʻi and on the U.S. continent. Pauahi Foundation gives preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry where law allows. Apply through the unified Pauahi postsecondary portal when the 2027-2028 cycle opens October 1, 2026 and closes December 1, 2026.
Across The Bridge Scholarship 2027 - $1,000 USA
The Across The Bridge Scholarship from Bridge Endowment awards $1,000 to one US student each cycle to help cover costs on the path toward an associate, bachelor, master, or professional degree. Applicants must be US residents at least 17 years old and enrolled or planning enrollment at an accredited US college. Selection weighs your essay on goals, learning commitment, and how the award helps you cross personal barriers. Applications open December 1, 2026 with a December 31 deadline at bridgeendowment.org.
AISLS Language Instruction Grants 2027 - $400
AISLS Language Instruction Grants help US graduate students, faculty, and scholar-members build Sinhala, Tamil, or Pali for research on Sri Lanka. Awards up to $400 cover in-country tutoring or virtual lessons with tutors based in Sri Lanka, funded through the US Department of Education. Proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis by email to the AISLS US director.
TheDream.US National Scholarship 2027 - Up to $33,000
TheDream.US National Scholarship helps first-generation immigrant students with or without DACA or TPS pay for an associate or bachelor's degree at a Partner College. Awards cover tuition and fees up to $33,000 for a bachelor's or $8,250 for an associate degree, plus up to $6,000 for books, supplies, and transportation. Applicants need to have arrived in the US before age 16 and before November 1, 2020, hold a 2.5+ GPA, show significant unmet need, and cannot be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant. The 2026-27 round opens November 1, 2026 and closes February 28, 2027.
Student Essay Contest 2027 - Americans United
Americans United for Separation of Church and State runs the AU Student Contest for high school and undergraduate students in the fifty states, DC, and US territories. Enter with a short essay or video on church-state separation using separate 2026 prompts, or submit both. First-place prizes reach $1,500 in each level with additional $500 awards. Apply through au.org/studentcontest by Monday, 5 October 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Winners may be published in Church & State magazine.
STC Scholarships 2027 - Society for Technical Communication
STC Scholarships from the Society for Technical Communication support undergraduate and graduate students who study technical communication, professional writing, UX content, or related fields. Up to four $500 awards (two undergraduate and two graduate) are granted annually, and winners may attend the STC Summit with complimentary registration. Apply through the STC scholarship page at stc.org with essays, two recommendations, and a transcript; the typical deadline is 15 February. Some databases incorrectly list lochgroup.com as the sponsor URL, but the authoritative source is STC in Arlington, Virginia.
Sweep All Scholarship 2027 - $500 Campus Cleanup Award
The Sweep-All Scholarship from the Manitoba turf-equipment maker Sweep-All offered $500 to one US college student who proposed a practical idea to clean or maintain local parks or campus grounds. Applicants needed US citizenship, enrollment or acceptance at a US college, and a 200-plus-word write-up submitted through the company web form, historically due November 30. The last documented cycle closed in 2020; confirm on sweep-all.com before you apply for the next round.
SmithGroup JEDI Scholarship 2027 - $6,000
The SmithGroup Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship, now promoted as the Design a Better Future Scholarship, awards $6,000 tuition grants to five US students each year who advance inclusion in architecture, engineering, and planning. Recipients also complete a required paid summer internship at a SmithGroup office. Applications for the 2027 class are scheduled to open 28 September 2026 through smithgroup.com/become-an-intern, with eligibility tied to junior-or-higher standing, a 3.0 GPA, US work authorization, and enrollment during Fall 2027.
