NSF Graduate Research Fellowship 2027 - $37,000 a Year
The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship is the oldest and best known graduate award in American science. The FY2027 competition pays a $37,000 annual stipend plus a $16,000 cost of education allowance that wipes out tuition and mandatory fees, for three funded years spread across a five-year fellowship period. NSF expects to make about 1,500 awards. You must be a US citizen, national or permanent resident, and you must be an undergraduate senior, a bachelor's degree holder with no graduate enrolment, or a first-year graduate student. Applications close between 19 and 23 October 2026 depending on your field, with reference letters due 16 October 2026.
Google Higher Ed Faculty AI Fellowship 2026 - No Stipend
The Google Higher Ed Faculty AI Fellowship is Google for Education's recognition programme for university faculty who already put AI to work in their teaching and research. Applications for the 2026 inaugural cohort are open, and there are two ways in: a personal nomination from a Google leader, or a self-application through the Google for Education application portal. Selected fellows join a global network, act as ambassadors for responsible AI on their campus, and work on one impact challenge they name themselves. Google publishes no stipend, no salary and no award amount for this fellowship, and its own FAQ says fellows must self-fund travel, accommodation, parking and any meals the programme does not cover at the in-person convening. The application asks for a short portfolio of innovation, a 90-second video, an impact challenge and a letter from your Dean or Program Chair.
Microsoft Global University Internship 2027
Microsoft runs its Global University Internship across every job family and solution area, and it is open to students currently enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, MBA or PhD program. Most placements run over the summer. There is no closing date to miss, because Microsoft states that recruiters keep accepting applications until all positions are filled. The US rules are specific and worth reading before you apply: you must be enrolled during the academic term immediately before the internship, go back to school for one full academic term afterwards, avoid taking classes while you intern, and be at least 16. Microsoft publishes a base pay range on each individual posting rather than one headline figure, and US interns get medical and vision insurance, paid sick time, paid federal holidays and software discounts.
Carnegie Endowment Internship 2027 - Paid DC Roles
The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace runs paid internships across its Washington research programs and its support departments, open to all students and recent graduates. Every intern, part time or full time, is paid at least $20 an hour. Full-time interns receive a benefits package and part-time interns get limited benefits. Individual postings say whether the role is open to remote candidates or restricted to people who can work from the DC-metro area. There is no single application form and no annual cutoff. Roles appear on the Carnegie jobs board as programs need them, so the practical approach is to watch the board rather than wait for a date. US work authorisation is the hard gate for any US-based internship.
UN Women Internship Programme 2027 - Unpaid, Year-Round
The UN Women Internship Programme places students and recent graduates inside UN Women teams for two to six months, at the New York headquarters on East 42nd Street and at offices around the world. Work covers strategic partnerships, communications, advocacy, policy, evaluation, human resources, programme planning, research and data, finance and ICT. The programme is unpaid. UN Women states that interns are not financially remunerated, and that a stipend towards meals and local transport is possible only for interns who are not funded by a university, government, foundation or scholarship programme. Travel, insurance and accommodation are yours to pay for. There is no annual application round: placements are advertised on the UN Women Careers site whenever a unit has a meaningful assignment, so the filter to watch is the Internships vacancy category.
Fulbright Foreign Student Program 2028 - Fully Funded
The Fulbright Foreign Student Program brings graduate students, young professionals and artists from more than 160 countries to the United States to take a master's or doctorate, or to run a research stay. The US Department of State funds it, IIE and AMIDEAST administer it, and roughly 4,000 grants go out every year. The grant carries J-1 visa sponsorship with the DS-2019 issued by IIE, funding toward tuition and living costs, a health benefit plan and enrichment activities, though the exact package is set country by country. There is no global application: you apply to the binational Fulbright Commission or the US Embassy in your own country, and each one publishes its own deadline. Indonesia closes on 15 February every year, Spain ran its last call from 15 January to 14 April.
Capital University Scholarship 2027 - $80,000 Award
Capital University in Columbus, Ohio hands every admitted full-time undergraduate the Main Street Scholarship, a minimum $80,000 applied over four years, which works out at $20,000 a year for up to eight semesters. On top of that sits the Capital Merit Scholarship, a stackable award set purely by weighted high school GPA and worth $2,000 to $8,000 a year, so a first-year student lands somewhere between $22,000 and $28,000 a year before need-based aid is added. There is no separate scholarship form. Your admission application is the scholarship application, and the offer letter arrives on the day you are admitted. Transfer students get their own GPA ladder up to $25,000, international students start at $29,000 a year, and Ohio residents under a $60,000 household income with a 3.5 GPA can reach full tuition and fees through the Capital Gateway Scholarship.
Harvard Free Online Courses 2027 - Audit 129 Courses
Harvard free online courses are gathered on one page of Harvard's Professional and Lifelong Learning site, where the free filter currently returns 129 online courses priced at $0. They come from across the university, with 48 from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, 24 from the T.H. Chan School of Public Health and 22 from the engineering school, and they span 11 subject areas from Humanities to Data Science. There is no application, no committee and no closing date, because 125 of the 129 are open to start any day. The teaching is what costs nothing. On most of them a verified certificate is a paid extra, sampled between $149 and $299, and CS50 is the notable exception that hands out a free certificate of its own.
FIU DBA Scholarship 2027 - $8,000 One-Time Award
The Florida International University Doctorate in Business Administration Scholarship is a one-time $8,000 award from FIU''s Chapman Graduate School of Business, scoped to College of Business graduate students. It goes only to people who have just been admitted to the DBA program and have not yet started classes, so applicants and enrolled students are both shut out. FIU asks for a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA in upper division undergraduate coursework and an aid-eligible immigration or residency status, which means US citizens, permanent residents and holders of other aid-eligible visa status. The money is split across the Fall and Spring terms of one academic year. The 2026-27 round closed on 26 July 2026 and FIU has not yet posted the next one.
IBM Free Online Courses 2027 - IBM SkillsBuild
IBM free online courses 2027 run on IBM SkillsBuild, the education programme IBM funds itself. IBM describes it as 100% free learning, and that holds all the way through: over 1,000 courses in AI, cybersecurity, data analysis, cloud computing and workplace skills, in 22 languages, with IBM-branded digital credentials issued through Credly at no cost when you finish one. There is no application, no selection round and no deadline. High school learners aged 13 to 18 sign up through the high school programme, adult learners aged 18 and over through the adult route, and university students through the university route. You can sample seven courses as a guest before you register at all.
Bank of America Internship 2027 - Summer Analyst
The Bank of America Internship is a 10-week paid Summer Analyst Program running across the bank's US lines of business, from Global Technology and Corporate Audit through to Finance Management, Global Risk and Commodities. It is aimed squarely at students in their penultimate year of university, with graduation dates between November 2027 and August 2028, and the bank describes the summer class as its primary source of hiring into full-time campus programs. Bank of America publishes no hourly rate or salary figure on any of its US student postings. Most 2027 roles close on 30 September 2026, Commodities closes on 1 October 2026, and the Global Technology and Quantitative Data Analytics roles run to 7 November 2026. Applications are read on a rolling basis and most postings state that the bank cannot consider candidates who need visa sponsorship.
FBI Honors Internship 2028 - Paid Summer Program
The FBI Honors Internship Program (HIP) is a paid, full-time internship that runs from June to August at FBI Headquarters, field offices across the United States and Puerto Rico, and the satellite campuses in Quantico, Huntsville and Pocatello. Interns are paid on the federal General Schedule, GS-5 for those who hold a bachelor's degree and are enrolled full-time in a graduate program, GS-4 for every other full-time student. Applicants must be US citizens, attend a US-accredited college or university full-time, hold and keep a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and pass the full FBI background investigation for a Top Secret clearance. The FBI states that 60 percent of interns receive a full-time job offer after graduation. The 2027 cycle closed on 5 March 2026 and the 2028 cycle dates have not been announced.
